Vehicle Builder of the Future: From the Depths

From the Depths is an amazing game with some interesting hard to learn mechanics. With 483 hours poured into From the Depths. I am here to tell you why it is an amazing and interesting game that you might want to play.

One of the games that is somewhat similar is Terratech, a game where you fight enemies which are made up of blocks, with these blocks you can build up your own vehicle. This game ‘along with others’ is somewhat like From the Depths, but it does not go into the same depth as From the Depths such as the fact that to build a cannon you need to place auto loaders, clips, and coolers which open a world of different combinations and weapon types whereas other games there are fixed weapons thrusters, so the options are not so endless.

Firstly, From the Depths is a truly amazing game with its mechanics, graphics, and having the ability to optimize to the point that my potato computer can run. The extra icing on top is the fact that it takes aerodynamics and detection angles into account which to me takes this game to the next level of awesome. It also means that you can make stealth planes and ships.

Secondly, it has multiple worlds and their own campaigns, such as Quest for Neter which is the main world. This map, which is comprised of islands and water, so a lot of the vehicles you will encounter will be ships. Then there is Ashes of the Empire where it is land biased, so you need to build hover craft and tanks. Last of all there is Galo which it like the main quest for the Neter but with a different map and a different story. I do not know much about Galo because I have not gotten round to playing it.

As a person with 483 hours in this game, I would not consider myself an OG player just someone who plays it a lot, so I still have some experiences with the game. The game was quite confusing the first few times I played it, but this is a game where practice will definitely improve your game. Once you get used to the mechanics it gets quite fun.

Lastly, I just want to talk about the community and how happy I am to be in this community. From the Depths was released on 7th August 2014 which makes it 8 years old! And boy has progress quite a bit to get to where it is now. It started as a small game with mediocre graphics and the block textures did not join smoothly. Now it is a larger game with better graphics and a larger community. Seeing this is making me excited for the future of this game.

From the Depths is quite a fun game where you can build a wide variety of ships, tanks, planes and hovercraft. I would give this game a 4.5 out of 5 because even though it is a fun game it has a very steep learning curve.

  1. Great! It’s really nice to hear what’s make from the depths such a special game and what you enjoy about it. It sounds like the community and continuall improvement over 8 years is part of what makes the game so great!
