When played well, Breach is one of the most annoying Initiators in Valorant. Unlike some other Initiators, all of Breach’s utility is designed to stun, blind, or deal damage to the enemy, making him very fun to play but very frustrating to play against.
This article will teach you how to use Breach’s utility, starting from Aftershock to Rolling Thunder.
Aftershock
Breach’s Aftershock shoots a cylinder that bursts twice and deals 80 damage per burst, meaning it can kill an enemy with full shields. Aftershock is good for clearing corners, slowing down a push, or hiding the flash, which I will talk about later. One thing to note is that Breach’s Aftershock starts on the other side of the wall, so don’t be afraid to throw it through a thick wall, as it will go through to the other side.
Flashpoint
Flashpoint is Breach’s blinding ability and, like Aftershock, also goes through walls. The flash duration depends on how close the flash is to the target, so keep that in mind when using it. Since the flash is really easy to turn away from, you can hide it by using Aftershock and then flashing in the center of the Aftershock. Since people usually hide after being flashed, you can also use Flashpoint to make them hide and then combine it with Aftershock.
Fault Line
Fault Line is used to stun players when you are pushing them or when they are pushing you. Using it right as the round starts gives it little value, as the enemy can just hide. It is better to use it with purpose, for example, to slow a push and buy time for your teammates, or when you want to push. Unlike the other two abilities, you don’t have to aim the stun up or down, as it will stun the whole area it covers, meaning it will stun people below or above you. Take note that it doesn’t slow the enemy down enough for the Aftershock to land. You can also use Fault Line across the map when the enemies are pushing the other site.
Rolling Thunder
Rolling Thunder is Breach’s ultimate and requires 9 Ultimate Points. Rolling Thunder sends enemies into the air and stuns them, similar to Fault Line. It is useful when taking a site or getting someone off the spike. If you use it and jump half a second after, you can get on top of high crates or boxes.
That’s pretty much it for this guide. I hope you learned something, and good luck with your games!
