Recently my friend picked up Bloons TD6 again and I think he might be addicted. One day he came to school and looked extremely tired. I asked him “Did you sleep really late again? You look tired.” He said “Look,” and pointed towards his laptop which was open even though school hadn’t started yet. He opened the game overview on BTD6 and it showed 1025 minutes of playtime this session! He told me that he had been awake playing the game since around 4am yesterday. He really wanted me to play the game too since he thought it was a great game, but I wasn’t interested yet.
A few days ago BTD6 went on sale in the Steam store and my friend bought it for me, now it looks like I have to play it. The second I opened the game I understood why my friend was addicted. The music, the sound effects, the animations and all the types of monkeys really made the game fun and enjoyable. I could feel the addiction taking hold of me already, even though I’d only finished the tutorial. If you’ve somehow never heard of BTD6 it is a 3D tower defence game released by Ninja Kiwi in 2018 while BTD was originally released in 2007. Bloons (balloons) have invaded the monkey village and your job is to protect the village using monkeys (towers).
There are currently 74 maps (called tracks) in BTD6 and each map consists of 14 medals to be earned, each of which being a different gamemode. Some of the game modes are military only, easy, medium, hard, sandbox, impoppable and CHIMPS. There are also 4 categories of maps (and each map has 3 difficulties) which are beginner, intermediate, advanced and expert. There are also many heroes to choose from – these heroes are monkeys that are very good but you can only place 1 each game. There are also regular monkeys which are just normal towers.
In the end I would recommend BTD6 to anyone who is looking for an addictively fun tower defence game, but don’t say that you weren’t warned!
