Mortal Kombat 11 has become the most popular Mortal Kombat (MK) game ever created in the franchise, with eight million copies sold to date. It targets the casual community rather than the competitive community and has removed some of the difficult input commands required to play moves i.e., the sequences of buttons on the controller to enable various movements; making it an easier and fun game to play with friends.
Mortal Kombat 11 is one of the most realistic fighting games around. Its creative fatalities, brutalities, and unique custom variations, along with character cameos from movies including Joker, Rambo, Spawn and Terminator, make for a visually realistic gaming experience. Another thing that makes this version so popular, is its unique story mode.
Mortal Kombat has always been praised for its story mode with its cliffhangers, sad moments, and strange outcomes. Players will find that Mortal Kombat 11’s story mode is very different compared to previous MK games. It has a more advanced, intricate story line; however, once familiarity sets in players are in for a treat.
‘NetherRealm’, MK’s creator company, is mostly known for creating brutal fatalities and is the main reason Mortal Kombat 11 has an ‘R’ rating. It is highly recommended that if blood and gore is not your thing, do not play this game. However, if you enjoy watching the fatalities at the end of a gaming fight, then go ahead.
Another unique inclusion that makes Mortal Kombat 11 different than other fighting games is the section of the game called ‘Towers of Time’. ‘Towers of Time’ is a location where players battle their way through difficult opponent challenges with modifications to assist and help. However, it is also a place of strategic difficulty. ‘Character Towers’ is a sub-area within the ‘Towers of Time’ where players can choose characters within MK and are able to select a particular character and fight through those challenges to unlock specific rewards for that character. So, this gives players more opportunity to select characters they like which empowers the players’ game.
Overall, Mortal Kombat 11 is an amazing game, and I would recommend this to anyone who loves “fighting” games and also variety within the game.
Congrats on a great article.
