Super Mario 3D World is a 3D platformer game, where you can explore levels in 3D animation. The object of the game is to rescue fairy like creatures called Sprixies from Bowser who is the villain in the game. One of the new features of the game is a new power-up where you turn into a cat and can climb walls and attack enemies with your claws called a scratch attack. You can play as Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach or Toad. The game is set in a realm called the Sprixie Kingdom that has been taken over by Bowser.

Mario can jump, pick up and put down objects. There are power ups that give you special moves such as the super bell, fire flower, boomerang flower, super leaf, double cherry, lucky bell, super mushroom, super star, mega mushroom, propeller box and cannon box. These power ups help you get to hard to reach objects, climb walls, attack enemies and fly. Compared to Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario Bros. U is 2D side-scrolling and has different power-ups as well as a different storyline. To succeed in the game, you will need to collect 3 green stars, 1 stamp and get the golden flag. The game was fun to play but the further into the game the more challenging it got. Some levels are hard and require a special power-up if you die too much. Super Mario 3D world is a fun 3D platformer game that has a fun storyline.
