Animal Crossing New Horizons is a revolutionary game where you can live a fully customisable life with all of your real-life friends by your side, it’s hard to not have a great time. But we can’t forget the islanders that become friends with you over time. They are people who live on this island with you. However, we can’t help but notice the mayor and his assistant, Isabelle. She is the assistant to the mayor of the island. She is also in charge of the wellbeing of everybody on the island. Making sure that any and all arguments are stopped right in their tracks. Next is the mayor also known as Tom Nook, with his outstanding charisma he is a wealthy businessman. Being a businessman, he procured this island with ease, setting up the Nook inc. island getaway package that we all know and love. He is also in charge of the construction that happens on the island, as well as getting new islanders to join the lovely getaway he has created. However, there is one person we can’t forget, their name is you. At the start of your magnificent island journey, you were crowned the person who makes all the big decisions on your small yet cozy island.
Once you finally pick a spot for your future home, you’re immediately given a hefty debt of five thousand miles. In reality this is easy to get, for any average player this would take about 30 minutes. But like in the real world, your phone bill isn’t the only debt that you acquire during your peaceful island getaway. You’re also blessed with a 98 thousand bell debt, but in return you transform your normal camping tent into a small house with a roof colour of your choice.
But to be fair to Tom Nook, we do get a lot of choices to pick from when it comes to the outside of the house. But like most houses one room isn’t enough. Most people have a minimum of 3 separate rooms. Unlike most houses, this one starts with one room that is quite small. Only after we pay a somewhat small sum of 198 thousand bells, we get another room which just so happens to be the same small size. Finally, when we pay a huge sum of 5,746,000 you get a completed estate for your quite admirable island.
Wouldn’t it be boring? Having this whole island getaway, but no one to spend it with. Well luckily for you, you have friends! Or enemies, it really depends on how you feel about them. If you don’t like them, you can always just ignore them completely. But if you like them, there are a ton of things you can do to further your relations with them. All islanders come in one form or another, with some being wolves and some being chipmunks. But we can’t forget that no matter their appearance, their personality is all that matters. The reason is that they may hate you off the bat. Yeah, that’s right, some islander will just hate you off the bat, so just be mentally prepared for if your favourite looking islander is just a jerk.
After you collect or catch five bugs or fish, Tom Nook will call his trusted friend who is named Blathers. Now you see blathers is an owl who likes to show off mostly natural things. Such as fossils, fish, bugs and of course art. This museum will keep players coming back even when the game is finally out of beta. The reason being that different bugs, fish and art appear every month. For example, in April cod and bass are more common and tropical fish are practically impossible to find.
Terraforming is the only way to change the all-around shape of your island. So, if you’re in the mood for a change this would be the best way of going about it. Terraforming can completely change the whole vibe of your island, from a normal basic green floating platform with layers to a wonderful wonderland with hills and bridges leading to forests full of animals and perfect places to have picnics with all of your friends whether they’re human or animal.
In conclusion Animal Crossing New Horizons is one of the most diverse games out there, in the aspect that there are so many fun and interesting ways to play. Although we can’t forget about the sheer amount of exquisite detail that was added to every nook and cranny. (Pun intended). Even though this game has some amazing features, we can’t forget about the outstanding portability the console that runs this game has. You can practically play animal crossing new horizons anywhere you see fit. All in all, this is a spectacular game that I would definitely recommend.
