I love indie game studios because they really prove that anyone can make games. You don’t have to of been in the industry for 10 years or have a giant team and a 7-figure budget. You just need to know how to code. And learning is becoming easier and easier with hundreds of free tutorials. Anyways, I’m getting off-topic.
Some of you might be asking, what is an indie game studio? An indie game studio is a single individual or a small team of people, and they are not usually backed by a big publisher like EA. There have been some great indie games, some examples are Hades, Undertale, Stardew Valley and even Cuphead! Yes, Cuphead was made by only 25 people. Not only that but some of them mortgaged their houses to bring their dreams of a 1930’s cartoon game to life. And it was a hit, 1.5 million copies sold, and it is… FUN!
Matter of fact, my dream is to run an Indie game studio. They are just so fascinating because it’s obvious they put in so much work, sometimes even more than big AAA companies. My favorite Indie game studio is The Behemoth because their games have so much charm and are made by around 9 people. Another great example is Innersloth, the creators of Henry Stickman and the absolute sleeper hit of Among Us. Another amazing thing is that they only have 3 developers. Indie games and their creators should be respected and supported for all the work they do for our entertainment. Because they slave for hours just so we can get one game that might even not be noticed.
